READING GROVE

With the support of a “TÁMOP Tudásdepo-Expressz” project, entitled “ More than a library” a 30m2 roofed balcony of the library has been converted into an indoor reading garden, i.e. reading grove.

A reading grove reverses the traditional connection between readers and reading matters. It takes the books out of the library to public areas, e.g. cafés, parks, streets. The social gatherings in a delightful place for reading out and listening to pieces of literature make an impression on the people seeking recreation via literature. Thus a basically individual activity strengthens public spirit. A school can also provide the same spiritual experience to its students, library users.

The balcony right above the main entrance to the building is decorated with potted plants and plants flowering in the widow-boxes, so a piece of nature has been brought in the library. The balcony with wooden pieces of furniture offers an excellent opportunity of having workshops with 12-15students.

This conservatory is a charming place in the fresh air, which provides a marvellous green and comfortable area to students for both group works and individual educational programmes while library services are also available.
